Welcome to Masjid Al-Noor

A brief history of our community in Delaware

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The Islamic Society of Delaware (ISD), parent organization of Masjid Al-Noor, was founded by visionaries of our community in 1992. Its present campus on Salem Church Road began as a small structure for a few dozen worshippers. As the community grew, Phase 2 of the expansion added a multi-purpose hall that now accommodates more than 500 worshippers, with a mezzanine for women. A full-time Islamic school—Islamic Academy of Delaware—was added adjacent to the hall, and the school moved to its present location in 2011.

Masjid Al-Noor serves the Middletown area at 486 Boyds Corner Rd, Middletown, DE 19709. Our main building is under construction.
